A tropical travel

If I were rich, I would like to travel all around the world, there are many countries that I want to visit, but the Caribbean Islands are one of my favorite places. Because of this reason I would like to travel to Cuba.

Cuba is a place very different; with a special culture that hasn´t the influence of USA and the capitalism. The Cuban culture is very authentic, so I think it is very interesting. I like the music and dance, which are influenced by African culture. Caribbean people always seem very happy and friendly, so I think that is a good place for arrive and begin a new life. Also the weather is something that I like, it is always warm and you never get cold, even if is raining. Because of this tropical weather you always have delicious fruit, like mango, banana and coco. The beaches are very nice too and because of tropical weather you can take swim whenever you want.

Ride a bicycle in the city

Hi! Today I´m going to talk about the importance of riding a bicycle in a big city like Santiago. For a lot of people ride a bicycle it is only a hobby or a sport, but for me it is more than this, for me it is the fastest and the easiest way to get around a lot of places. 


A lot of people prefer to take a bus, but they don´t see the advantages of using the bicycle.  With the bicycle you are independent, you don´t have to wait the bus and you don´t need money (save money is the most important for some people). Also riding bicycle is very healthy, and for many busy people it is the only moment of the day where they can do a sport activity. Another important advantage is that the bicycle don´t contaminate the environment. So, if you don´t use the bicycle, you should be starting to use it now.

An undesirable term

Hi! My name is Gaspar Cavada, I´m studying Anthropology and these my first year. I think that this second term it is going to be very strange. During mobilizations, I always think that we have to back  classes, but I never imagined that we would back as soon.

I hope that this term will be useful and quickly, because I´m not from Santiago. Before studying at University, I used to live in Villarrica so I don’t like the weather of Santiago. I think that it is going to be horrible for me, because in Villarrica the weather is colder than Santiago´s weather and is never so hot. Also it will be hard because my family live in Villarrica, so I will have to travel for Christmas and New Year. This travels are going to be a big problem, because for Christmas and New Year the bus tickets are more expensive than in the rest of the year. Although this problems I´m exciting with my new subjects and I hope that I can know more about my classmates.
